A stick pin application is used primarily in commercial insulation. This application is used when an insulation batt has nothing to adhere to when being installed. For example, the interior of metal building would have stick pins applied to the interior of the building. Once the stick pins are installed, the insulation batts are then applied to the stick pins so they will remain in place after installation.

Stick pins can also be used when installing rigid board insulation and are often used in wall, ceiling and roof applications. Generally anchors are installed one day and insulation the next.
